Who We Are
GIOYA is more than just an academic institution. It’s an exclusive learning business club that combines top-tier education, strategic networking and personal growth.
Gioya offers flexible, online Bachelor’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as executive programs, focused on high-growth areas like commercial diplomacy, entrepreneurship, luxury management and sports leadership.
To access GIOYA’s academic courses and networking activities, there’s no tuition fee, but rather a membership is required. Executive programs, however, remain accessible without membership.
GIOYA offers tailor-made five starts services to assist executives who want to experience new learning but have very limited time available.
Our Story and Mission
Rooted in the experience, values and global network of its UN-affiliated founders, GIOYA was established to blend institutional vision with innovation in education. In dialogue with the Maltese government, it secured its Higher Education Institution license at a pivotal moment when Malta was embracing new educational models inspired by Scotland and Finland.
This unique foundation soon attracted the attention of Tuscany’s world-leading yacht manufacturing district, which acquired 10% of the institution—marking the entry of the luxury yachting sector into the governance and future direction of the Institution.
The integration of this glamorous industry transformed the original name GY into GIOYA—an evolution inspired by Flavio Gioja, the 13th-century inventor of the compass, and rooted in a shared maritime legacy that reflects both precision and vision.
Today, GIOYA merges the elegance and forward-thinking nature of the luxury industry with the institutional strength and ethical compass of its founders—professionals shaped by the UN system and deeply committed to public good.
This commitment echoes the legacy of Adriano Olivetti, whose revolutionary vision placed social responsibility at the heart of entrepreneurial success. It is this spirit that continues to guide GIOYA’s mission: to create a new generation of leaders where knowledge meets influence, and business serves society.
